Paying for Therapy Services
At Bridges we do our best to make services as affordable as possible for our clients. When we speak to you for your initial consultation, part of our discussion involves your payment options. Below are options to consider when paying for therapy services.
Self-Pay
For clients who choose to pay out-of-pocket, we set competitive rates that are comparable to other therapists in the area while taking into account we have expertise in areas many do not. There are reasons that people may choose not to use health insurance to pay for therapy services. Click here to learn more about why many people choose other options when paying for therapy. Please ask about self-pay options during your initial phone consultation.
In-Network Health Insurance
Bridges Counseling and Wellness is in-network for therapy services with most Aetna, Cigna, and Optum/United Healthcare plans. We anticipate being in-network with Anthem BCBS of Connecticut and HUSKY/CT Medicaid by December 2024. You can verify your benefits in advance by using the link to Alma, our secure billing service for therapy services. Please note that we are not currently in-network with any Medicare/Medicare Advantage or Florida Medicaid plans.
Out-of-Network Health Insurance Reimbursement
Even if Bridges is not in-network with your insurance, your insurance company may reimburse some of the cost of services as out-of-network. We can provide you with a specialized invoice that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You would provide us payment in full directly and you would be reimbursed at whatever your insurance’s out-of-network rate is. Note that your insurance company will require a mental health diagnosis if you submit a claim for reimbursement. Check with your insurance company to see if out-of-network reimbursement for therapy is covered.
HSA/FSA
Under some circumstances you may be able to pay for sessions using your health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA), even if Bridges is out-of-network with your plan. Check with your insurance company to see if this is allowed with your plan.
